Copper production

The company, with registered head office located in Les Masies de Voltrega, Spain, is engaged in the production and sales of semi-finished copper products from recycled copper. The company's products include cables for electrical applications, railway products, rigid and annealed copper tubing for water, gas, heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration applications. It was founded in 1808 by a young man named Francesc Lacambra Pont when he set up a small family-run smelting plant in the port area of La Barceloneta which supplied copper and bronze pieces to the Spanish market. It is one of the largest companies in Spain. The company exports its products to South Africa, Algeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Italy and France. Its mission is to transform metals from raw material to product using production processes that are safe, innovative, and environmentally friendly, that make an efficient use of natural resources, offering products of a certified quality, meeting all clients' expectations, and generating value for the company and for society as a whole. Since 1993, the company is operating in a total quality system of management control certified by AENOR according to the ISO 9001:2000 (ER-0153/1993) model. The system of Environmental Management of the company was certified as complying with the UNE EN ISO 14001:1996 Norm in December 2001.
